9-11

by Eron Thomas

As I sit here at my desk this morning, I can’t help but think back to Tuesday, September 11, 2001.  The sky was azure blue as it is today. Then like now there is dryness in the air that hints at fall.  I watch the children laugh and play at the bus stop.  As the bus pulls to the curb they ready themselves.  Like a start at NASCAR they scurry on to the bus:  little pin balls bouncing from seat to seat with energy that only children possess.  They are on their way to school.  They are happy.  They feel safe.  It all seems so normal, so regular, so every day.  But there is sadness about me today. There is a nagging melancholy that pecks at me.

It is 9-11.  Why do I feel this way every year?  My eyes fill with tears.  I can’t find the words to express this profound darkness that surrounds me.  My anger and despair in this moment overwhelm me.  I weep for those lost.  I weep for my liberty.  I weep for my country.

Compounding my anger and grief is the Progressive Socialists who in their hearts and deeds believe that America got what she deserved.  It is for them that we will have no national day of mourning.  It is for them that we will suffer in silence.  It is for their warped sense of social justice that we will all act as if almost nothing ever happened.  Yes there will be a ceremony here and there, but there will no nationwide remembrance of this tragedy.  There will be no grand opening of the 9-11 museums.  There will be no honor given to the dead.  There will be no nationwide moment of silence.  That would be spiking the football.  That might foment anti-Islamic feelings.  Why if we were to do something like that it could embolden t bitter clingers. If we did that before the presidential election it just might make people think back to the last time they actually felt safe in their own country.

The Divider in Chief Barrack Oblah blah will make some obtuse speech about hope and change and moving forward.  Like a blunt tool he will yammer on, and on and on in an empty attempt to sound sincere.  The length of the speech will not be indicative of his anger or heart felt emotion regarding the lost of innocent lives.  He just likes to hear the sound of his own voice.  Like all the other Progressive Socialist he is quite satisfied with the outcome of 9-11.  In his heart he feels that America got what she deserved.  Like all Progressive Socialist he takes comfort in others suffering.  He is miserable and any little thing he can do to make you miserable is a quiet comfort to him.  The speech will also include at least a couple of divisive remarks designed to drive Americans apart.  He may say something like… and  if the millionaires and billionaires were just paying their fair share this might not have happened.  No time like the present to campaign in a close election.

I stop to think.  I can’t focus on this today.  I have to get so much done.   I have to look at the bills.  The checking account is -672.00 over drawn and all of the bills are due this week.  Oh Yea Barrack Oblah blah thanks for this this great economy.
